Asbury United Methodist Church and the Livermore Police Department are partnering on a workshop around stopping violence before it occurs. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by violence and hurt in the world. Participants will learn the signs and how to intervene to stop violence before it occurs. This is true for suicide, domestic violence, and most mass shootings. The workshop will be hel on Friday, November 9 from 7:30-9pm at Asbury United Methodist Church.
This workshop will be focused on learning: 1) the signs that someone is at risk of violence to themselves or others, 2) how to figure out what to do when you notice those signs, 3) how to take concrete action. Participants will explore and then practice real life examples to build experience recognizing signs, assessing, and acting.
